The Rowdy Rods

Previously I've mentioned the... bond that Greg and Hunter shared. They would lovingly practice new ways to high-five. Creativity. Sensitivity. Vulnerability. Greg and Hunter embraced these qualities as the Rowdy Rods. They finished each other's sentences. They'd have completely nonsensical e-mail conversations. It was very entertaining to see what the two of them would do next. And they'd always surprise me!

Greggycakes!

Greg fit in real well with Hunter, Matt, and I when he was hired. Quickly, too. He scared Ron so badly one morning that Rondito spilled tea all over himself. A legendary turn, that one. Greg and I also became incredibly proficient at distracting Ron with work while the other put a vulgar post-it on his back. We loved it when he'd come back red-faced and tell us that the president of the Press asked him if he pees sitting down like the note suggested. All in all Greg is a wonderful jackass that I wish was still around. He was the one person out of us all to have the vision and financial wherewithal to actually quit the Press.

Kudos to you Captain Greggles! I salute you, sir.

Prepare to be Dazzled!

Office hijinks were once like a sport to us. Nary a day went by that we didn't play a joke on someone. Even if it was just scaring Ron so badly that he spilled his tea all over himself. (Kudos, Greggycakes!)

But this little gem was a brainchild of my very own. I'd had the idea for some time, just germinating in the malicious waters of my nether brain. It festered there for quite a while. Fortunately my lovely wife played a part in making it happen. In a way you could really blame her. I mean she bought the dazzles from the store. So really, all I did was make use of the product in a way that was both entertaining and frustrating. Frustrating for Matt.

I dazzled his mouse so hard you could scarcely look at it in that luscious phosphorescent lighting we have in our basement-like office. It gleamed for yards around. It was glorious. Full of chuckles, we returned early in the morning to see Matt's reaction. He seemed to think it best to downplay his outrage and not indulge our childishness. So he simply traded his mouse with a spare in the office. But a good laugh was had by all. Except Matt.

Ohhh Yeee-ah!

This fan favorite is brought to you by none other than Greg. AKA Greggycakes. AKA Captain Greggles. His impression of Randy Savage as Bonesaw McGraw in Spider Man is pretty tight. And of course he inspired the rest of us to yell the signature phrase across the office. In fact I still love saying it! Say it with me now! Come on, you know you want to!
BONESAW IS REEEEADY!

Happy New Year

Now that the naughty are finished hiding from Krampus it's time to start with the art posting! This particular drawing was one of many silly little doodles I've done based on the people around me. The original drawings were mostly done in ball point pen and put up on our map of Ohio for passersby to see.

These two affectionate fellows are Greg (left) and Hunter (right). Hunter and Greg have a unique relationship. Though superficially very different they will be man-mates forever. You ever have two straight friends that wouldn't be the least bit embarrassed to fall asleep in one another's arms? Yeah, me neither. They should just stop pretending. Anyway, Hunter and Greg were inspired by a video of two guys high-fiving in numerous and entertaining ways. So inspired, in fact, that they adopted this hobby. Hobby? Nay! Dare I call it a lifestyle? So every day they'd waste multitudes of minutes creating new high fives. Each one bringing them closer together, both emotionally and physically. And so I present the High Fives.
