Spider-Ron! Spider-Ron!

I mentioned this on Facebook a week or two ago, followed by a doodle that I never posted. So here it is! The theory being that my good buddy Ron is actually Spider Man! Peter Parker would often make plans and have to bail on them at the last second because he had greater responsibilities. Sounds familiar, eh?

Engage!

Make it so! And all other manner of Star Trek jargon! Hm. This Jean-Luc Picard drawing looks suspiciously like Hawk from the Buck Rogers television show from the 70s-80s! Starring one Gil Gerard. Man I loved that show as a kid. And I think Colonel Deering's space uniform had a lasting effect on me, too. Uh, resistance is futile!

One-Liners

So a couple of weeks ago I started doing one-line drawings. You know, you render a complete drawing with one uninterrupted line. Just something to occupy myself between file saves at work. The first is very clearly GODZILLA! I love Godzilla. Some of my fondest memories are of those late Saturday mornings when they showed Monster movies. What a way to follow up Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends, right?

--The Hell?

How do you burn something in the microwave? Really. I'm not saying ruin food. I mean burn. Is it possible? I didn't think so. I've never done it, never heard of anyone that's done it.

Somehow one of my coworkers burned a dinner roll in the microwave. Burned. Charred. A stench filling the office not unlike that of a freshly scorched loaf. The best part might be that I'm told he ate it.

Angry BAP!

Matt got a new smart phone recently. And an iPod. So it goes without saying that he's been absolutely addicted to Angry Birds. Every spare second he has he's smashing pig structures. And since Matt has some qualities in common with these avians boiling over with fury I thought it deserved an image in their honor!

Ol' One-Eye

Oh, I'm just talkin' about Cyclops. He's one bad--- Shutcho' mouth!

This guy really needs a new costume. I don't really get the whole forearm-calf armor look. What's that got to do with having one eye? Not that he only has one eye, but his name IS Cyclops. And why pinstripes?

Contests

From time to time I enter art/design contests. The subject of this post actually took place some time ago. I just decided some of this stuff might be worth sharing, too. (Just so you don't think I'm some loon with a scribble pad.) So this bowling alley in Brooklyn wanted a t-shirt design to promote their fun atmosphere. I got the bowling and Brooklyn part right...
